Sprint today displayed the Motorola i576, a new rugged iDEN push-to-talk clamshell.
Certified to military specification 810F for dust, shock and vibration, the i576 is a stylish clamshell with rich features. It delivers Nextel Direct Connect services for one-to-one and group communication, as well as Bluetooth and GPS navigation so employees can get work done.
With Direct Connect, consumers can use push-to-talk to call other customers with set-up times of less than one second. Using Group Connect, customers can communicate with up to 20 other Direct Connect users. Repeating Call Alerts let other subscribers know they are trying to reach them.
Sprint will debut several new iDEN handsets this fall.
The Motorola i576 will be available October 19 for $69.99 with a two-year service contract.
