Sprint today announced a push-to-talk phone that is safe to use in hazardous areas with flammable gasses.
The Motorola i365IS is protected against releasing electrical or thermal energy that may ignite fuel or light a fire or explosion.
In an emergency, users can reach everyone in the group by sending a special emergency tone.
The i365IS has an ultra-rugged design that is certified for military specifications for humidity, blowing rain, dust, shock and vibration. Consumers can connect to up to 20 other Nextel Direct Connect subscribers for push-to-talk communication.
